UI Dance Marathon Partners with University of Iowa Athletics in Fan Cutout Fundraiser

This year, Hawkeye Football will look a little bit different. Though there may not be crowds of cheering fans, the University of Iowa Dance Marathon is excited to partner with University of Iowa Athletics to bring cutouts of Hawkeye fans to Kinnick Stadium this season!

Just like many nonprofit organizations, 2020 has hit UIDM hard. Luckily, their resiliency has paid off and they have found great success in creating new initiatives during a tough time. UIDM Executive Director Elizabeth Jackson shares that “It was so considerate for UI Athletics and Kirk and Mary Ferentz to think of partnering with UIDM. It’s no secret that this year has presented many obstacles and UIDM as an organization has gone completely virtual. This partnership opens the door for so much opportunity for UIDM’s efforts and mission this year.”

Fans who are interested in purchasing cutouts will submit the photo of their choosing to UI Athletics. Cutouts aren’t limited to only human participants- many pets are also joining the fan section of Kinnick this season! Cutouts will make great gifts for fans who want to support the Hawkeyes while supporting their local CMN hospital. There will be multiple price points for purchasing a cutout, and the opportunity to purchase a cutout signed by Kirk Ferentz. 20% of cutout proceeds will benefit the University of Iowa Dance Marathon.
