University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital Receives Support from Iowa Drug Card and United Networks of America

For a second time, the Iowa Drug Card team has had the honor and the privilege of visiting and presenting a check to the nationally ranked University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital in Iowa City. The doctors, nurses, and staff of UI Stead Family Children’s Hospital continue to demonstrate superior dedication and care to all children of Iowa as well as the surrounding states. This divine dedication and quality of care has landed them among the Best Children’s Hospitals for ten years running! With the help of generous supporters, pediatric patients and their families are welcomed to a warm and comfortable environment should treatment require them to stay at the hospital for any period of time. Accommodations and services such as Child Life Specialists, an in-house salon, indoor and outdoor play areas, and a beautiful children’s theater are made possible thanks to donations provided by individuals, communities and organizations such as the Iowa Drug Card.

The Iowa Drug Card is a free prescription savings coupon that allows residents and visitors of Iowa to save on generic and brand name medications. This card is available to everyone at no cost and is accepted at all major chain pharmacies. Since 2015, the United Networks of America partnership with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals has raised over $2.4 million dollars for local children’s hospitals. Of this, $6,863.00 has been raised for University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital.
